Sometimes know as 'Chief' or 'Papa Gene' Marvin Eugene (Gene) Breeding, was a friend and father to all. Gene left us on July 17, 2014 after 87 years of life, but will forever be in our hearts and memories. CMSGT Gene Breeding was a veteran of 3 foreign wars, including World War II, Korea and two tours in Vietnam. After 30 years of service he retired from the Air Force and was immediately asked to work for the civil service. Where he participated in assisting the troops in Desert Storm as a civilian.

Gene was born in Akron, Ohio on July 5, 1927 to Jere and Dona Breeding. At the start of the depression his family moved to Tennessee and then made their final home in Oklahoma working as farmers. When World War II broke out Gene was drafted from high school into the Army in 1944. After the war, he returned home to Granite, Oklahoma and graduated high school in 1948. Gene enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 when the Korean War started. He met the love of his life, Betty Ann and they were married for 63 years. While the military they traveled aoo over the world, from the United States, to Europe and Asia, including a tour at the top of the world, Greenland. He retired from the Air Force in 1979 and served in the United States Servic until 1993.

As a highly decorated soldier with over 25 medals, he received several accommodations for his bravery and good works. Gene often sponsored underprivileged children's education in many countries where he was deployed. He achieved the highest rank possible as an enlisted soldier. Every holiday whether in the U.S. or abroad he would bring the service men and women into his home, to feed them and make them part of his family. While in the military, Gene worked as a taxidriver, janitor, short order cook, and cotton gin operator, in order to support his family.

Gene was preced in death by his father and mother, Jere and Dona Breeding and brother, Doyle. He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Caroline and daughter-in-law, Sheri and grandchildren Zachary and Sydney who live in California. His god-granddaughter Lacie and god-great grandchildren Dylan, Draden and Janyne in Texas. He is futher survived by his siblings Bobby and wife Beth in Texas, Billy and wife Jane, Sue, Wendell, and Sam in Oklahoma, Max and wife Melbain Missouri.

Gene Breeding never met a stranger and always had something good to say about everyone he met. He taugh us to take care of everyone who needed help and always remember to laugh at yourself. We will liss him so much.

A memorial service celebrating Gene's life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00am at the Church of Christ, 5880 Thornton avenue, Newak, CA. A luncheon will follow after the memorial, at Gene and Betty's home. He will be buried at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery with full military honors.
